Contract terms

There seems to be a general acceptance within the telecoms industry that the best course of action is to try to tie your customers into the longest contract term possible, that way they can guarantee future income for the duration of the contract.

Opious approach this in a very different way, instead, we will always try to provide you with the shortest contract term, giving you the flexibility to move elsewhere if for any reason we do not live up to the high standards that we impose upon ourselves.

It saddens me to see so many companies still being tied into 5 – 7 year contracts especially when it comes to telephone solutions as this is practically committing your company to use antiquated hardware and restricted features for the term.

Within the telecoms industry there can be revolutionary changes to technology happening every month, now is most definitely not the time to tie yourselves into lengthy contracts that restrict your ability to take advantage of these exciting advances.

We recently had a company contact us who were in the process of moving offices, but their incumbent provider was looking to charge them tens of thousands of pounds to migrate their out of date phone system to the new location.

Opious stepped in to offer our advice, working with the existing provider to come up with a settlement figure and then providing the customer with a brand-new cloud-based solution that came in dramatically cheaper and offered the customer far more functionality.

There are certain things where it makes sense to lock in longer terms, for example, you wouldn’t want the hassle of changing a leased line provider every month or risk the cost of mobile calls increasing without having the ability to lock in cheaper rates, however these are the exceptions.

Opious have access to a vast portfolio of global market-leading suppliers as well as a growing network of regional solutions, therefore we have a unique perspective of the entire industry and use this knowledge to make recommendations on an individual company basis.

So, whether you are in the market for a new telephone system, a mobile fleet or a connectivity estate you can rest assured that we will provide you with the unbiased advice that ensures you will always get the best possible solution.
